made the long haul to Scotia Speedworld in Halifax, Nova Scotia to run two 25 lap features and have
the overall winner based on points from the two segments. Katie hit
problems in part one with first a spin and then a broken A-frame retiring the car on lap
fourteen for a 10th place finish.
The second segment saw Katie starting on the pole with the positions of the first segment
inverted. As the green dropped, Katie moved into the lead only to be chased down by the
flying Rowes - father Mike and son Ben - Ben running Katie's #4 backup Legacy machine.
The rough father-son battle ended when Ben (with a little help from Mike) ran wide out of
turn two and left tire marks about 40 feet along the wall. A flat rear tire ended the race
for the #4.
With
Ron Bryant making an inside move for a first-time win and Mike Rowe in second, Katie held
off Dave Sullivan #17 and Kyle Coolidge #24 for third.
With
the tenth and the third, Katie places seventh for the event with 13th points for the two
segments. After splitting her racing between the Legacy car and the #41 PASS Mod, Katie
has fallen to seventh in the NEALS points with 259. |
